How We Work

Insurance

If you have insurance, Buttonwood Counseling can see you in the office of Dr. Miguel Diaz in Tavernier. Most insurances are accepted there.

For those with no insurance, Buttonwood Counseling makes arrangements for private payment. As of March, 2020, Buttonwood is pleased to offer HIPAA-compliant online sessions for private pay clients. This service is available to anyone in the state of Florida.

Length of sessions

Typically, we meet with clients for 50-min. intervals.

Duration of sessions

We suggest you book regular weekly appointments at the beginning of our work together. This will help you set your goals and learn to make changes that will benefit your mental health. After a few weeks you may want to decrease the frequency of sessions. You may find you want a longer time in-between appointments for assignments, reflection, and journaling. We will decide together what works best.

what if I have limited resources for treatment $ and also will I be provided documents to courts or family that I am being treated or document of success or something of proof.

    • I invite you to look at the new post about the relapse prevention and recovery support group at the new office. It’s very affordable and might be a good place to start. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
